OK so your resident Apple expert nailed it 10 months before the rest of the world. 🙂
– We have a new iPhone 4S. NO iPhone 5. 🙂
– We have iOS 5 and iCloud.
– We have cheaper iPhone 4 and free iPhone 3GS (with contracts)
– We have new improved iPod nanos and touches.
You can find details all over the internet but there are certain points I wish to draw your attention to.
You will hear a plethora of moaning about the non-existence of the non-existent iPhone 5. This figment of the imagination conjured up by the pseudo-tech press for headlines. They are TOTALLY missing the point.
This HUGE announcement from Apple today was primarily about the new operating system iOS 5 and iCloud.
The spec-bump on the iPhone 4 to the 4S is very nice but totally secondary to the software and cloud announcements. I find it pretty funny that the share-price went DOWN after the keynote, almost certainly based on the fact that the new iPhone was called a 4S instead of a 5!

The stand out features are Siri, iMessage (a BBM-a-like), notification centre, Remnders and Twitter integration.
The fact that the iPhone 4 and 3GS are now extremely good value for money will increase Apple’s market reach. They are both solid products and will benefit massively from most of iOS 5 features.
The new iPod nano looks REALLY fun. It has gained a touch screen and more. You can even wear it as a watch!

The iPod touch now comes in white and is CHEAPER! It will benefit hugely from iMessage and iCloud.
iCloud is the glue that holds all the iOS devices together…
